]]>Virgilio Martínez’s “Central” restaurant was ranked second as the best restaurant in Latin America and they both imposed Peru’s leadership for the second consecutive year on the list of the region’s most outstanding gastronomic proposals.
Likewise, during the ceremony, Pía León was awarded as the Best Female Chef of Latin America in the 50 Best Chefs. She currently opened the restaurant “Kjolle” in the city of Barranco, after accompanying Virgilio Martinez for nearly 10 years in “Central”.

]]>From August 19 to 22, the “Peru 2019 Roadshow” took place in Brazil to promote the main tourist destinations of our country and provide a meeting point between tour operators from Peru and Brazil, gathering a total of 265 participants.
The event took place in the cities of Curitiba, Fortaleza and Recife and counted with the participation of 12 Peruvian tour operators
This event was organized by Promperú (Comisión de Promoción de Perú para la Exportación y el Turismo), with the support of the Oficina Comercial de Perú en Sao Paulo, which aimed to promote Peru’s tourism products, attractions and services in the tourism industry and to encourage activity among entrepreneurs from both countries.
Among the Peruvian tourism companies that participated was present Tika Tours – Tour Operator & DMC Peru.

They are 2,500 m2 specially designed and equipped with a universe of experiences in which visitors will discover the traditions of Peru during two (02) hours full of guided experience.
Among the main attractions offered by “Peruvian Experience” stands out: the first and only animatronic of the Inca Pachacútec, developed by Disney suppliers and the most important museums and entertainment parks in the world; the only “Dark Ride” of Peru that makes a tour with special effects through the history of gastronomy in the three regions of the country.
“Cooking experience”, is another of the attractions that visitors will be able to enjoy where they will learn to prepare the most representative dishes of Peruvian gastronomy; “Pisco Experience” is a vineyard in which the visitor will be able to learn about the different stages of the elaboration of pisco, from the harvest, the pisa of the grape and the distillate, to the bottling of pisco. Afterwards, there is access to a 1920s theme bar with a master class, ghost and jarana included.
The final stage of the tour is the area of “The Taste of Peru” consists of a recreation of a typical Peruvian market with a spectacular staging accompanied by typical dances, in addition to a tasting in 12 times of the best of the gastronomy.

]]>Surprising! Guinness record for the largest tapestry in the world in Peru.
Representatives of the Guinness Record announced that the Cusco province of Espinar achieved the record for the largest tapestry in the world with 288,556 m2, surpassing the current one that was reached in China and measures 276.41 m2.
The tapestry, is a tribute to the culture of Espinar, was made in the Fiber Alpaca and Sheep Wool Plant of Pallpata.
Made from high quality sheep wool yarns, 90% of them made by hand using the Puchka technique.
The fabric was manufactured in one piece, without joints, so it was made at the same time by 12 artisans and using a loom machine 16 meters long.
The tapestry is being exhibited in the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, the Coricancha esplanade and in other emblematic sites of the Imperial City.
