Surprising! Guinness record for the largest tapestry in the world in Peru.

Representatives of the Guinness Record announced that the Cusco province of Espinar achieved the record for the largest tapestry in the world with 288,556 m2, surpassing the current one that was reached in China and measures 276.41 m2.

The tapestry, is a tribute to the culture of Espinar, was made in the Fiber Alpaca and Sheep Wool Plant of Pallpata.

Made from high quality sheep wool yarns, 90% of them made by hand using the Puchka technique.

The fabric was manufactured in one piece, without joints, so it was made at the same time by 12 artisans and using a loom machine 16 meters long.

The tapestry is being exhibited in the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, the Coricancha esplanade and in other emblematic sites of the Imperial City.

Then he will be transferred to Kanamarka in Espinar.

The work, the result of the art of 12 experts from the province of Espinar, contains Andean iconographies captured by yarns with Pushka.
