The “The World’s 50 Best” was held in Bogotá and awarded to the best restaurants in Latin America. For the second consecutive year, “Maido” and “Central” were the first two places in this prestigious ranking.
Virgilio Martínez’s “Central” restaurant was ranked second as the best restaurant in Latin America and they both imposed Peru’s leadership for the second consecutive year on the list of the region’s most outstanding gastronomic proposals.
Likewise, during the ceremony, Pía León was awarded as the Best Female Chef of Latin America in the 50 Best Chefs. She currently opened the restaurant “Kjolle” in the city of Barranco, after accompanying Virgilio Martinez for nearly 10 years in “Central”.
